Tree Spotlight → Kindred Spirit® Oak

Now presenting Kindred Spirit® Oak! Standing ovations are welcome. Seriously though, can we please get a round of applause for this tree's branching structure? Who knew an oak tree could only grow to be 6 ft wide? It's true!

Kindred Spirit® Oak is worthy of all the fuss. We will highlight the unique and beautiful characteristics that make this tree SO worthy.

  • Dense, tightly formed canopy
  • Beautiful dark green leaves have a matte sage green tone on the bottom side
  • Fawn brown autumn leaves hold tightly in winter
  • Versatile!

As mentioned, its narrow form is a sight to behold, and it's about as versatile as they come. Its upright, slender form is an attractive accent in the landscape. Use it as an exclamation point in your yard, or plant it in your landscape bed or garden. When planting trees for additional privacy and screening, consider Kindred Spirit® Oak. This tree is an excellent alternative to the traditional arborvitae row. We can plant them in a row along a fence line or all on their own.

Not only that, but its leaves stay put throughout much of winter. This characteristic is called marcescence, and it offers additional screening & a pop of color in the landscape during winter months when many other trees have long since lost their leaves.

Did we forget to mention that this tree's tough as nails?

Kindred Spirit® Oak combines the tolerance of English Oak and Swamp Oak. Its drought and mildew-resistant qualities make it an ideal choice for narrow city streets. You can add "Parkway Tree" to this tree's versatility resume.

The late, great, tree-lovin' Bob Ross once said, "It's OK to have a tree as a friend."

Well, dear readers, he was right. Kindred Spirit® Oak will indeed become a lifelong friend of yours.
